This book is great for kids to use on their own with parents checking in on their progress. Kids take quizzes, fill out checklists, etc. that help them learn about their ADHD as well as learn some strategies the kids can use to help themselves with their ADHD. There are just a few that parents/caregivers would have to fill out on their own. It is well organized and for younger kids you can easily skip sections that are not yet relevant without it interrupting the reading.

I work as an LPCC and I have 2 children with ADHD. I initially bought this for my counseling practice and it has proven to be quite helpful. I have now used a few of the ideas/pages with my own children and have witnessed them achieve insights into the strategies we have been going over. This has proven to be a helpful resource.

I have used this workbook several times in my counseling practice and most of the time, children have learned from it and enjoyed it overall. I always have my own copy on hand so that I can work with a child concurrently on a page or two. Overall, it has been a very helpful workbook and not shamed children for having to live with a difficult issue.

This book REALLY has made a difference in my child's behavior! I even shared it with the principal at his school and she is thinking of ordering it for other children! The only thing I would change is some of the wording when it says "Children with ADHD" I would replace it with "SOME CHILDREN".
I love the way the lessons are set-up and titled to find the one that fits a situation!

I’ve used the individual version of this workbook for years and love it. This family version has definitely been a great workbook for us as a family. Kids seem to be constantly on a screen if not at school and have no actual ideas how to decompress or even that they need to decompress and this helps give them the tools they need to take time out to just be with themselves and their families.

My son has been diagnosed with "Severe ADHD", and has had that diagnosis since he was 4 years old. He is now almost 10 years old, and has been in outpatient hospitalization once already. Trying to parent an ADHD kiddo isn't like trying to herd cats, but more like trying to write a Nobel Prize winning essay in Japanese when you only understand English. It's definitely NOT easy, but it is doable when you have the right tools. Medication, therapy, community/academic support, and emotional support for family members are the greatest tools to do just that. I would now add this book to that list. The language is easy, and the activities are fun and engaging. They are designed to be completed in a short amount of time, which is great for those short-attention-span moments. The recommendations are easy for my son to apply to his every day life, and with his therapist, school counselor, and teacher. He has started feeling better about himself as he is not getting into trouble as often, which has led to an increase in his self esteem. Further along that same line, his grades have improved and he is finally making true friends. This workbook has been exactly what we needed!

I ordered this book this morning for a same day delivery and it was delivered as promised. We sat down to dinner when my daughter started looking thru the book (she did not know I ordered it for my granddaughter). My granddaughter asked her Mom to read it to her, so my daughter read the first story aloud. One hour later my granddaughter did not want to stop! She was breezing through each chapter, hungry for more. My daughter and I kept looking at each other in pure amazement as my granddaughter does not like to read and she shared things that we did not expect. We see this as nothing short of a miracle! I highly recommend this book.

There are some great activities. It is geared for families but I am using a couple of activities in therapy sessions. I think I was hoping for more strategies relating to anxiety rather than stress but that was my own expectation. It is a worthwhile book.

We have The Relaxation and Stress workbook and the ADHD workbook for Kids. They're perfect for my 9 and 11 year old kids. They way they're written and the activities are geared specifically towards the child which empowers them to be in control (rather than ones written to the parent who then instructs the child). I was very surprised at howhat well the activities work. The only flaw? My forgetfulness in encouraging their use and making the time to do it with them (if they want me to)

This is a great book for kids! My 11 year old is a bit immature for her age (as most kids with ADHD) and it has been really good for her. I have to ask her to sit and do a page here and there but she complain. I would say she had learned a lot about the reasons behind her behavior, impact of her behavior on other family members and this is half the battle. She is a few chapters into the book but so far we are very happy with thought provoking exercises in this book.
